I'm priveleged and so thankful for that !  During corona I built my own private venue in an adjacent stable at our house.  Never could I have guessed that this place would grow out to be a little secret/underground shack where so many bands would come and play.

The first band that ever came and play at The Black Flamingo was Braca.  Braca are two brothers who play power-folk and for me they bring instant happiness from the first notes they play.  These two multi-talented brothers really are a live-experience and that's also the reason you don't find many video's on the world wide web.  So if you get the chance go see them and judge for yourself.

OFF THE GRID FESTIVAL Normally I write about a song that caught my attention or that has a special meaning to me but this article is a tribute to this small festival that I had the honor in attending in Croatia's capital Zagreb at the Vintage Industrial Bar This story actually starts in June 2022. While I was watching the amazing band L.H.D.  at the Trash'n'Burn festival in Croatia, I met some great people who were also in a band called Melewai . ALPS. - WANT YOU NOW

 ALPS. - WANT YOU NOW Life is full of surprises.  Sometimes it gives you lemons, sometimes it gives you Alps..  At The Black Flamingo we really are blessed with the people that come visit us.  No matter how big or small the audience, they give the artists all the attention they deserve.  One day Jesse came over to watch a show here.  I didn't knew who he was but someone pointed out to me that he also was a musician and a songwriter.  After a little research (hurrah for socials) I came across two of his projects, Alps. and CYNN' (more about CYNN' later, I'm sure). For me Alps. is more than songs.  When I close my eyes while listening to them I can almost feel the scenery passing by.  Want You Now in particular makes me feel like being somewhere on a mountain pasture (Alps.?) and it's my perfect waking up song after a stressy week or a heavy night. I already had the privilege to see them perfom live and what a show that was ! Go check them out if you get the chance.
