What's it all about ?

 First of all I want to be clear : I'm not a self-proclaimed music connoisseur but I like music.

In my opinion (and that's the only opinion I'll make) there is no good or bad music.  Who am I or who is anyone for that matter to say that music is good or bad... by definition of what?

Of course there are bands or genres that I don't like.  And not all artists have a repertoire that I completely dig.  There is too much pigeonholing going on.  All these charts and best off lists are just useless.  It's just page fill and it reflects only the preference of few.  When a "musical-expert" writes a review about a gig or an album, it's just HIS opinion, not everyones.  And yet reviews can have the power to make or break an artist or a band.

In this blog I will post the music that I like or that has a special meaning to me.  Songs that hit me straight in the soul.  Music that gets me going. Lyrics that make me cry.  But it's personal because it will be only music that effects me and my life.  If there will be songs or artists here that you like or had not discovered yet ... you're welcome ! If not ... no problem, and I thank you for your attention.

OFF THE GRID FESTIVAL Normally I write about a song that caught my attention or that has a special meaning to me but this article is a tribute to this small festival that I had the honor in attending in Croatia's capital Zagreb at the Vintage Industrial Bar This story actually starts in June 2022. ALPS. - WANT YOU NOW

 ALPS. - WANT YOU NOW Life is full of surprises.  Sometimes it gives you lemons, sometimes it gives you Alps..  At The Black Flamingo we really are blessed with the people that come visit us.  No matter how big or small the audience, they give the artists all the attention they deserve.  One day Jesse came over to watch a show here.  I didn't knew who he was but someone pointed out to me that he also was a musician and a songwriter.  After a little research (hurrah for socials) I came across two of his projects, Alps. and CYNN' (more about CYNN' later, I'm sure). For me Alps. is more than songs.  When I close my eyes while listening to them I can almost feel the scenery passing by.  Want You Now in particular makes me feel like being somewhere on a mountain pasture (Alps.?) and it's my perfect waking up song after a stressy week or a heavy night. I already had the privilege to see them perfom live and what a show that was ! Go check them out if you get the chance.
